A Message from our Chief Executive

Tomkins believes in the importance of social responsibility in its business practices and the part it plays in the success of our business. As with all aspects of our reporting, we understand the need for transparent disclosure. The inclusion of a CSR section on the website underlines our commitment to CSR and demonstrates the advances we have been making in developing accurate reporting systems to capture the impact of our business on our many stakeholders.

Tomkins seeks to achieve the highest possible standards consistent with its obligations to its employees, customers, suppliers, providers of capital and the communities in which we operate, all whilst providing an acceptable return to shareholders. Indeed, we can only deliver sustained shareholder value if we are a responsible company.

Wherever our businesses operate, they do so in compliance with the local laws and regulations. In addition, we have established company guidelines, in the form of our Code of Conduct and Ethics, that require all our employees to behave ethically, conduct company business with integrity and in conformity with the laws of the countries in which they operate. Our Human Rights Policy, applied uniformly across the Group, upholds a set of principles covering anti-discrimination, employee rights, prohibition of child labour and social responsibility. The focus of our Health, Safety and Environment Policy is to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and minimise the impact of the Group's operations on the environment. Together, these standards form the basis of how we conduct our business and our relationships with our key stakeholders.
