Tomkins acquires industrial hydraulic fittings business

Tomkins plc announces the acquisition of Eifeler Maschinenbau GmbH ("EMB"), a division of Heitag Beteiligung GmbH.
The transaction, subject to standard closing conditions including antitrust approval, is expected to be completed by 1 July 2005. EMB's operations will be integrated into Gates' Fluid Power business.
EMB is a world-class manufacturer of high-performance hydraulic tube fittings, adapters and accessories for a variety of industrial applications. The company is headquartered in Euskirchen, Germany and has subsidiary operations in Spain and China, employing around 150 people. EMB has annual sales of around €29 million and net operating assets of €12.5 million.
